Language, Land and Song : studies in honour of Luise Hercus

Language, land, stories and songs are closely entwined in many societies around the world. Documenting all of these is now recognised as an essential part of language work, and flows into contemporary concerns for making material accessible through language maintenance and archiving activities. Language, Land and Song features the work of 45 contributors, who highlight current practice and draw on insights from anthropology, digital humanities, education, ethnography, history, linguistics and musicology. The book shows how the value of this multi-faceted documentation has become clear over the last fifty years.
