Keep him my heart by Gary Lee

Keep Him My Heart is a play which chronicles 100 years of the Cubillo family in Darwin, one of Darwin's oldest and biggest Aboriginal families. The love story at the heart of the play is that between Antonio Cubillo, a Filipino immigrant to Darwin, and Lily McKeddie, the daughter of a Larrakia woman (Annie Duwun) and (Scottish-born) Darwin businessman George McKeddie. The play was written by Gary Lee, the great grandson of Antonio and Lily, and first performed in Darwin in 1993 with music performed by the Darwin Rondalla, a revival of the Filipino/Spanish rondalla tradition brought to Darwin by Antonio Cubillo. Until now, the play had never been published. This publication includes a number of appendices which provide additional context to the play, along with a glossary, genealogy and extensive bibliography.
