Already a leading businessman and artesian borer in the Roma distrct of Queensland, "Pop Chapman" at age 58, led a large expedition to Central Australia in search of mineral wealth. Floating "Chapman's Gold Mines NL" in 1932, a rush occurred on the Granites goldfield. Pop Chapman and family successfully worked the field for the following 21 years and among other business enterprises started the Centralian Advocate newspaper in 1947. A life story of vision, determination and pioneering spirit in Central Australia.
