It's Love your Bookshop Day, 10 October 2026
Love Your Bookshop Day is an annual national celebration of local independent bookshops and the booksellers who help readers discover their next great read. This year’s theme is “Ask a bookseller. Shake up your shelf.”
The idea is simple: step away from the algorithms, come in and talk to your local booksellers, and let us help you find something unexpected. So come on in and ask us!
We’re busy preparing a few treats for everyone who can drop into the shop on the day, for today we’re excited to announce our Love Your Bookshop Day Kids’ Colouring Competition!
A huge thank you to Thor F. Jensen for once again creating a wonderful illustration for us. You can download the colouring sheet here, or pop into the shop and we’ll give you a copy.
How to enter:
Colour in the picture.
Bring it to Red Kangaroo Books by 12 noon on Saturday 10 October.
Include your name, age and contact details on the back.
We’ll choose the winners that afternoon, with three $25 Red Kangaroo Books vouchers up for grabs!
