If you’re thinking about a trip North, consider timing it with the NT Writers Festival, Darwin/Garramilla ( 28 – 31 May 2026 )—one of Australia’s most unique literary gatherings.

The first glimpse of the2026 NT Writers Festival lineup has landed, it’s already something special. Under the artistic direction of our Louise Omer (author of Holy Woman), three remarkable voices have been announced, each set to explore this year’s theme, Navigating.

  • Omar Musa is an acclaimed multidisciplinary artist whose award-winning novel Fierceland has made waves across the literary world.
  • Hannah Moloney author of the new book Why we Garden?, beloved Gardening Australia host, permaculture educator, and passionate climate activist bringing grounded, hopeful perspectives. 
  • And, Zoe Terakes author of Eros. Zoe is an award-winning actor and writer whose bold, queer retellings and advocacy work continue to inspire.
