Don’t miss one of the biggest annual sporting events in the Northern Territory, The Tatts Finke Desert Race

Finke Desert Race

Date: 7th-10th June

The Tatts Finke Desert Race is an off-road, multi-terrain two-day race for bikes, cars & buggies through desert country from Alice Springs to the small Aputula (Finke) community. The race is held each year on the King’s Birthday long weekend in June. “Finke” as it is commonly known, is one of the biggest annual sporting events in the Northern Territory and has the reputation of being one of the most difficult offroad courses in one of the most remote places in the world. Finke is unique and the most fun you can have with a helmet on.

Get creative at the Alice Springs Beanie Festival

Date: 21st – 24th June

Five hundred beanie makers (from around the globe) will create some of the world's best headgear, and 6,600 beanies are expected to descend on the Araluen Arts Centre for four days of exhibitions, Don’t miss out on Indigenous weaving workshops, textile classes, live music, homemade tucker, and a whole lot of fun, joy, warmth, and colour.
