The Life and Times of Albert Namatjira
The Life and Times of Albert Namatjira includes an illustrated catalogue of over 450 of the artist’s works from the 1930s, 40s and 50s, drawn from public and private collections. It includes the first drawings he sketched around Hermannsburg Mission, the work he was encouraged to produce on wooden mulga slabs, boomerangs and woomeras as well as hundreds of examples of his water-colours. Many photos of the artist painting on location with his family and during his many travels have also been reproduced. The well-researched book has been produced in close consultation with the Namatjira family and Namatjira Legacy Trust.
